There are many dog breeds out there that are considered a teacup dogs. Some of the most known teacup dog breeds include Teacup Yorkies, Chihuahua, Teacup Maltese, Teacup Pomeranian, Teacup Pugs, Teacup Shih Tzu, Silky Terrier, Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier and Teacup Poodle. These kind of dogs are greatly valued and are seen as status symbol.

Each one of these teacup dog breeds have their own characteristics, origin and history about how they are bred. Most of the teacup dog breeds are bred by the system called selective breeding. They are not special or rare dogs even though they can be very expensive because there is a great demand for these cute and tiny dogs.

Teacup dogs are bred exclusively for appereance and this was introduced in the 19th century. Usually teacup dogs were owned by kings and lords. Teacup dog breeds are very warm dogs and were used for warmth in the cold winter days by royal members. A teacup dog’s temperature is around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. They are also called toy dogs because they can sit in human lap and be carried everywhere with their owner.

Teacup dogs are valued for their companionship and become really attached to it’s owners. Teacup dog breeds were specifically bred to appeal to people because people love small dogs.
